New York native CID was on a fast ride to the top last year, and this year…. well, his rise continues to accelerate at warp speed. Axwell /\ Ingrosso’s I Love You featuring Kid Ink wasn’t bad… it just wasn’t something worth talking about. When I saw that CID was putting his spin on it, I knew we would be in for some magic.
In true fashion, this Grammy-award winning producer put a much more dance-able, House-y edge onto what I consider an originally very “low-key” track–there wasn’t an extraordinary number of elements in the mix, allowing Kid Ink’s vocals to shine while being accentuated by some lovely string work along the way. CID bumped up the bassline a few notches while keeping intact my favorite part of the original–the strings (shocked, aren’t you?). The driving beat of the entire track keeps me enticed until the end, something a lot of tracks have been struggling to do as of late.
